Blood Road follows ultra-endurance athlete Rebecca Rusch and her riding partner, Huyen Nguyen, as they pedal 1,200 miles along the infamous Ho Chi Minh Trail to reach the crash site of Rebecca's father, shot down 40 years earlier.
Director Nicholas Schrunk said, “We set out to document an epic cycling expedition as well as Rebecca’s personal journey, but we ended up uncovering something much deeper. It’s a story about the scars, both physical and emotional, that war leaves on families, countries, and cultures, and how they still exist today.” The film earned "Best of the Festival" and Audience Favorite awards at numerous events. Nominated for three Emmys in 2018, it won the award for Outstanding Graphic Design & Art Direction.
